Ain't That a Bitch est peut-être l' album le plus emblématique du Johnny Guitar Watson des années Paru en (avant A Real Mother For Ya, Giant, ou What the Hell is This?), il porte néanmoins déjà en lui la parfaite recette du succès de ce musicien aussi atypique qu' attachant, expérimentateur efficace, désireux de rassembler /5(36).

Coming out of Houston's fertile blues scene with Albert Collins and Johnny Copeland, Johnny "Guitar" Watson trod the same route to fame that his peers did in the latter half of the '50s and for most of the '60s. Unlike Collins and Copeland, though, Watson found his biggest success as a funkster in the '70s. And lest one thinks of an aging blues legend embarrassing himself aping the innovations.

Title Ain't That A Bitch. B1 Ain't That A Bitch. Artist Johnny Guitar Watson. 1 x Vinyl, LP, Album. A nearly perfect record. A NM- record has more than likely never been played, and the vinyl will play perfectly, with no imperfections during playback.

A dope original U.K pressing of this heavyweight funk album featuring 'Superman Lover' famously sampled by Big Lady K on 'Don't Get Me Started', Compton's Most Wanted on 'Compton's Lynchin', Deborah Cox on 'Sentimental' & Jemini the Gifted One on 'Funk Soul Sensation'. An essential funk album, no doubt.

Oct 17,  · This LP was a comeback album for Johnny, a funky-blues romp with his RB hit Superman Lover -a great groove that's been sampled by Jay-Z, Mary J. Blige and Redman. Two unissued bonus cuts are here, too, along with another RB hit, I Need It plus Ain't That a Bitch; Since I Met You Baby and more.

John Watson Jr. (February 3, – May 17, ), known professionally as Johnny "Guitar" Watson, was an American blues, soul, and funk musician and singer-songwriter. A flamboyant showman and electric guitarist in the style of T-Bone Walker, Watson recorded throughout the s and s with some burnepetlighradol.keiswatzenbanpcotirijabarwhetssecoun.co creative reinvention in the s with funk overtones, saw Watson have hits with.

Maybe the best album that Johnny Watson cut during his DJM years – a totally tight, totally soulful set that avoids any fake funk cliches! The record's got some wonderful trippy numbers – cut in that slow g-funky mode that was Johnny's huge legacy to the west coast scene – best of these is the classic "Superman Lover", a great little cut with a very catchy hook, and just the right dose.
